Black out ridge

Free-range poultry houses nowadays need to have 3% daylight.

For poultry houses with just one single floor, ridge or roof windows are a very good solution. The light comes into the house very naturally and spreads optimally. As all Tulderhof products these windows are custom made and therefore very easy to install into the roof ridge of the house. Very important with ridge windows is their width. This must be around 4% of the width of the complete house to acquire 3% daylight. We advise to use opal windows to prevent direct sunrays coming into the house.

In between the top- and bottom layer of the window, movable slats are made to assure proper darkening when needed. The slats can be operated manually or with an electrical winch. In some computers it is even possible to make the closure automatic, being controlled by a light sensor.
